Frequently asked questions

Answers for buyers and suppliers

Clear information about how ThinkGreenSource works, what we source and what happens when you submit an enquiry.

What does ThinkGreenSource do?

ThinkGreenSource connects businesses that have recyclable materials with companies looking to source recycled and recyclable materials. We help identify suitable supply, understand buyer requirements, review available material information, support price negotiations and help coordinate transport directly from supplier to buyer. We do not hold inventory.

What materials do you currently work with?

Our initial focus includes HDPE, LDPE, PP, PET, PVC, EPS and PS, ABS and copper. Buyers with another specific requirement can still contact us for review.

Who can supply materials?

We work on a business to business basis with organisations such as waste collectors, manufacturers, industrial businesses, airports, logistics organisations and other businesses that generate or handle recyclable material.

Is there a minimum quantity?

Our minimum quantity is generally 100 kg. Whether an opportunity is commercially suitable will still depend on the material, grade, value, location, frequency of supply and transport requirements.

Do you work with one off loads and regular supply?

Yes. We can review one off opportunities and recurring supply arrangements, including regular monthly requirements.

Can I contact you if I do not know the grade?

Yes. Provide as much information as you can, including where the material comes from, approximate quantity, colour, condition and any available photographs or documents. We can then identify what other information may be needed.

How do you check the material?

We review available information such as material type, grade, condition, quantity, specification, contamination and supporting documents where available. Depending on the transaction, the buyer may require additional testing, certification or independent inspection.

Can buyers ask you to find a specific material?

Yes. Tell us the material, grade, form, quantity, technical requirements and delivery location. We can then explore suitable opportunities through our network and sourcing activity.

Do you work with buyers outside the UK?

Yes. We aim to work with UK and international businesses. Cross border transactions are subject to relevant environmental, waste, customs, transport and regulatory requirements.

Who pays for transportation?

Transport responsibility and cost are negotiated for each transaction and may sit with the supplier, buyer or be reflected in the agreed commercial terms.

What happens if the material received does not match the agreed specification?

ThinkGreenSource will support communication and work towards a practical resolution under the agreed transaction terms. Depending on the circumstances, this may include return, replacement, price adjustment or refund where applicable.

Do buyers and suppliers have to know each other's identity?

Not necessarily. ThinkGreenSource can manage the commercial relationship centrally and aims to protect sensitive information. Relevant details may still need to be shared where required for legal, regulatory, contractual, compliance or transport purposes.

How does ThinkGreenSource make money?

ThinkGreenSource charges a sourcing commission based on the value of an order. The applicable fee and commercial terms are agreed as part of each transaction.

How quickly will you respond?

We aim to acknowledge business enquiries within 24 hours from Monday to Friday. Complex sourcing requirements may take longer to assess fully.
